U.S. Africa Command (Stuttgart), Your unit is in dire need of your help. Only in our 2nd year participating in the intramural sports program, we are first place in Commander Trophy Points (we currently have 23 points). EUCOM is a close second with 20 points. Here is where we could use the help, there are only three events left to garner points (Flag Football, Golf Tournament and the Great Pumpkin Race). We have at least one golf team entered which will give us points (Reminder: Coaches meeting today, 1400 at Patch Fitness Center). Please let me know if you've entered a team. Tournament is being held 20 August 2010. We had a select few interested in flag football but no one has stepped up to be coach and as of right now we have no team entered. EUCOM has at least one team entered already and this could break us. If you are interested in play/coaching flag football, send a note to GySgt Dennis Dougherty (dennis.dougherty@africom.mil) As coach, you'll mostly be responsible to keep your team informed of games, reschedules, standings, etc which will be provided to you by the MWR staff. When/if you sign up for the Great Pumpkin Race (October 30th), please be sure to note what unit you are from so that we may receive points: http://www.mwrfirstchoice.com/stuttgartmwr/sportsfitness/events/?reloaded=true Great Pumpkin Run 10K The 2010 Great Pumpkin Run will be run on 30 October, starting and ending on Patch Barracks Husky Field. This is a great event and will be held for the seventh year, with 5k and 10k routes. Registration will include a t-shirt for the first 300 registrants, awards, door prizes and post-race refreshments. Runners dressing up for Halloween are also eligible to win a prize for best costume. We have a very good chance to disrupt EUCOM's monopoly on the Commander's Trophy, will you help?
