PORT GENTIL, Gabon (January 17, 2008) -- Chief of Gabonese National Navy, Captain Paul Biving Nziengui, thanks Petty Officer 2nd Class Ronald Saucedo for helping to save a Gabonese citizen's life January 14 on Sogara Beach in Gabon. The January 17 award presentation followed a graduation ceremony for Gabonese maritime professionals who completed training onboard Africa Partnership Station. The basic life-saving training that Saucedo received is the same training that Africa Partnership Station (APS) is teaching to West and Central African countries onboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry. APS is a multinational effort to bring the latest training and techniques to maritime professionals in nine West and Central African countries.
