AFRICOM Commander Visits 15th MEU, USS San Diego

MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Nov. 29, 2017) – U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Thomas D. Waldhauser, Commander, U.S. Africa Command, recites an Oath with Marines and Sailor O3 selects during a promotion ceremony aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), Nov. 29, 2017. Waldhauser visited the USS San Diego (LPD 22) to personally congratulate Marines and Sailors of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and America Amphibious Ready Group for the work and efforts in supporting missions in the 6th Fleet area of operations. USS San Diego is deployed with the America ARG and 15th MEU to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.(U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
