Mission

The foreign policy advisor serves as the advisor to the combatant commander of U.S. Africa Command to provide counsel on U.S. foreign policy and ensure strategy, plans, and programs are aligned to serve national interests. Working with more than 40 U.S. embassies in Africa and the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., the foreign policy advisor helps inform the commander on a wide range of policy developments, emerging trends in Africa, and other activities.
