J5 - Strategy, Engagement and Programs
U.S. Africa Command's directorate for strategy, engagements and programs is comprised of dedicated, customer-focused individuals who provide services and products to help ensure a more stable and secure Africa.
The directorate develops strategic guidance, plans military campaigns and operations, and conducts security cooperation activities within the area of responsibility to deter and defeat transnational threats and enable environments conducive to good governance and development.
This information is for inbound U.S. Africa Command personnel assigned to positions with Offices of Security Cooperation and under the Chief of Mission authority in Africa.
Strategy, Engagement and Programs personnel work to achieve: a safe and secure Africa that is in the best interest of African nations and the U.S.; African nations positioned to meet their goals 3) cooperation among partner nations to fulfill their own objectives and security interests
