DJIBOUTI (Nov. 11, 2012) - U.S. Navy Capt. Steve Koehler, Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa chief of staff, lays a flag on the grave of former Royal Canadian Air Force Pilot Lawrence Maguire, during a Remembrance Day ceremony at the Djibouti New European Cemetery Nov. 11, 2012. Maguire was the first member of the RCAF who was killed in action in the African theater of operations and was one of thousands of Americans who volunteered to fight for the RCAF in World War II before the U.S. officially entered the war.
