AFRICOM Commander Engages with African Leaders

Marine Corps Gen. Thomas D. Waldhauser engaged with 21 defense attaches and the African Union Ambassador to the U.S. in a wide-ranging discussion at the Africa House, in Washington D.C. Waldhauser discussed U.S. strategies pertaining to defense, Africa, and common challenges on the continent. The U.S. is committed to being a preferred security partner of choice, engaging in activities to ensure U.S. interests in Africa are protected against destabilizing competitor state influence, activities, and aggression.
