USAID Senior Developmental Advisor (SDA)

Mission

The senior development advisor is a senior officer with the Agency for International Development who reports directly to the combatant commander and serves as USAID's principal senior representative within U.S. Africa Command.

The senior development advisor contributes to the command's strategy, plans and programs as they relate to development, as well as to U.S. Africa Command's relationships with other U.S. government agencies. Working closely within the command, the advisor informs U.S. Africa Command on development and humanitarian assistance guidance and policy, and contributes to collaboration for disaster response, security sector reform, countering violent extremism, HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, global health, reconstruction, and civil-military coordination.


Vision

Working to amplify the USAID/DoD civilian-military coordination to ensure the success of the overall command objectives as part of achieving U.S. foreign policy and higher-level U.S. national security interests in Africa.
