AFRICOM is hosting a media delegation from Algeria and Mauritania this week as part of a program to provide an opportunity for journalists to learn more about U.S. Africa Command.

Previous media delegation visits have included journalists from Kenya, Zambia, Burkina Faso and South Africa.  The visit covers staff briefs, visits to Ramstein Air Force Base and an opportunity to take in some local culture.  A social, hosted by U.S. Army Colonel Tom Davis, director, Office of Public Affairs for AFRICOM, is planned for later in the week.  The journalists’ visit will culminate on Friday with an opportunity to interview the senior leaders of U.S. Africa Command.
