Medical Pros Work Together in Chad

The medical readiness and training exercise is an opportunity for U.S. and Chadian medical providers to hone skills, strengthen partnerships and help those in need.

U.S. Army Reserve Maj. Joe Hollingsworth, an emergency physician with the 4005th U.S. Army Hospital, Army Reserve Medical Command, conducts a surgical consultation with a patient April 22 at the Hospital Militaire D’Instruction (Military Teaching Hospital) in N’Djamena, Chad. The patient suffered a fractured femur six months ago and it has gone untreated since. Hollingsworth advised that traction to realign the bone would be necessary before surgery could be performed.
