AFRICOM INFLUENZA VACCINATION DAYS U.S. Africa Command employee influenza vaccinations are scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. September 20 and 30, 2010 at the Kelley Barracks Fitness Center. U.S. Africa Command uniformed personnel and civilian employees, including USG interagency personnel and contractor employees eligible in accordance with their contract terms, may access walk-in vaccinations on either date. Influenza vaccination is mandatory for uniformed personnel and required by December 1, 2010. The DoD influenza vaccination program is part of our national defense strategy to safeguard DoD personnel against the seasonal influenza virus. Vaccination is the best protection against influenza infection. Only one influenza vaccination is necessary this year. COMMUNITY VACCINATION DAYS Community vaccination days are also available and scheduled at all Stuttgart installations. Community Days at Kelley are October 28 and November 4, 12, and 18. Times have not yet been determined. Walk-in vaccinations at the Kelley clinic will be available in the future. Please see the USAG website and The Citizen newspaper for future announcements on influenza vaccination availability for military dependents, DoD-sponsored and USG interagency family members, and other TRICARE beneficiaries. For more information on this year's vaccination, visit http://www.vaccines.mil/default.aspx?cnt=disease/minidv&dID=30 or contact the Force Health Protection Branch at 421-2263.
