General William E. "Kip" Ward, commander of U.S. Africa Command, kicked off the 2010 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Overseas for the command October 4, 2010, at Kelley Barracks.

CFC, the annual giving drive for the Department of Defense, runs through December 3. During the campaign season, uniformed and civilian personnel can contribute to help people in need in military communities, across the nation and around the world.

With more than 2,300 participating charities, the CFC is the world's largest workplace charitable drive. Last year federal workers and military personnel pledged more than $283 million, setting a new CFC record.

"Donations to the CFC change lives and bring relief and hope to thousands of communities and millions of Americans," said Alejandro Holguin, 2010 CFC program manager. "This year, with so many in need, let's show what we can do when we work together on a common cause."
