Demonstration Update: December 4

On December 4, 2010, the "Bündnis gegen Stuttgart 21" (an alliance against Stuttgart 21 made up of various German citizen initiatives) will hold a demonstration to protest the new Stuttgart Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof) construction

On December 4, 2010, the "Bündnis gegen Stuttgart 21" (an alliance against Stuttgart 21 made up of various German citizen initiatives) will hold a demonstration to protest the new Stuttgart Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof) construction project.

The demonstration will be held from 1400 until 1530 hours, at Schillerstrasse and Arnulf-Klett-Platz, in front of the Hauptbahnhof in downtown Stuttgart, Germany. The march through downtown Stuttgart has been cancelled. The estimated number of participants has increased to approximately 30,000 people.

Additionally, a second demonstration in downtown Stuttgart has been registered with German authorities. This demonstration against nuclear power will be held from 1200 until 1335 hours at Eugenstrasse, in front of the Staatstheater (State Theater), in downtown Stuttgart. The theme of the demonstration is: "Turn off the nuclear plants, the climate killers:. Approximately 100 people are expected to participate.
