The holiday season has arrived and Hope and I wish each of you in U.S. Army
Garrison Stuttgart a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We encourage all of you to enjoy this festive season, but always take safety into consideration.

If you plan on attending holiday parties where alcohol will be served, have a plan to avoid drinking and driving, or getting into a vehicle with someone who has been drinking. This may include appointing a designated driver, handing your keys to the host, or abstaining from drinking when you know you will be driving. If you're hosting guests, be sure you offer non-alcoholic beverages as a choice and be mindful of your guests' safety.

During the winter season, snow and ice can make driving hazardous. If you plan on traveling during the holidays, take your time while driving. Slow down, maintain a safe distance from the car in front of you, and arrive safely.

It's also important to winterize your car and ensure you are driving with winter tires, as well as winter windshield washing fluid. Be prepared for a possible break-down by keeping a winter safety kit in your car. If you are taking a trip please plan rest stops every two hours.

When you go outside, especially during the evenings, ensure that your clothing is bright enough to be seen by drivers, and dress for the weather.

On behalf of myself and my wife Hope, Command Sgt. Major Bryant and his wife
Angie, and the entire USAG Stuttgart command group, have a joyous holiday season, stay safe and please accept our best wishes for a successful New Year. Keep in mind your USAG Stuttgart family needs you back safe and sound!
