Panzer Housing Area to get new waterlines Residents of the Panzer Housing Area may experience a loss of water or interruptions in the water supply on April 7 from 10 p.m. to April 8 at 6 a.m. as the U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart Directorate of Public Works replaces waterlines, valves and hydrants. Buildings 3180, 3182, 3113, 3118, 3114, 3115, 3165, 3161, 3162, 3163, 3166, 3111 and 3112 will be affected. Collecting water ahead of the interruption (in bathtubs, water buckets, pots, etc.) is recommended. After service returns, residents should run water at each faucet (sink, shower and bathtub) for at least two minutes to clear the lines. During construction, residents in Buildings 3101, 3110, 3113, 3114 and 3118 may experience some noise due to the movement of heavy machinery, etc. For more information, call DPW Operations and Maintenance Utilities Division at 421-6257 or cell 0172-727-9661. (Information for this news brief was provided by the USAG Stuttgart Directorate of Public Works) ************************************************** Take OHA survey – deadline extended until April 15 Eligible service members are encouraged to take the 2011 Overseas Housing Allowance Utility/Recurring Maintenance Survey. All service members who have lived off-post under the OHA program for at least six months are eligible. The deadline to take the survey has been extended to April 15. The Department of Defense uses data from the survey to determine the utility/recurring maintenance allowance for service members residing in the survey country. Because accuracy is important, survey participants should use records and receipts to help them report the average monthly cost of each of their utilities, as well as the average monthly cost of any routine maintenance expenses. The survey takes approximately 30 minutes. Service members in Germany can take the survey at www.defensetravel.dod.mil/ss/wsb.dll/s/eg4a.
