WHAT: Stuttgart Army Health Clinic's Influenza Vaccination Clinics at Kelley Barracks


WHO: HQ USAFRICOM-Stuttgart Uniformed and DoD Civilian Personnel
-- DoD and USG civilians engaged in foreign duty under military
sponsorship are authorized influenza vaccinations per DoD
policy/AFRICOM force health protection guidelines.
-- DoD contractors are ONLY authorized influenza vaccination if
written in terms of contract.

WHEN: 23 Sep and 30 Sep @ 0800-1500

WHERE: Kelley Clinic Annex (next to post office)

WHY: Annual influenza vaccination is mandatory for all uniformed personnel
unless medically exempt. DoD requires 90% active duty vaccination
compliance by 01 Dec 11.

HOW: Complete screening form available at P:\AFRICOM\Joint-Collab\Influenza
Screening Form. Visit Kelley Clinic Annex with screening form and CDC
731/yellow shot record, if you have one, to obtain vaccination. Reserve or
National Guard personnel in Stuttgart as a civilian employee should circle
affiliated Service branch NOT non-military on screening form.

Questions & Answers:

-- Same vaccine as last year contains H1N1 virus, as well as two other
influenza viruses: an influenza A H3N2 virus, and an influenza B virus

-- Both FLUMIST and vaccine/shot are available in Stuttgart Community.
Unless contraindicated, under 50 yrs receives FLUMIST

-- NO DEPENDENTS will be vaccinated on these dates - 23/30 Sep at Kelley. If
concern about high-risk dependent, contact health care provider regarding
vaccination

-- SAHC will be vaccinating children in the schools at start of Oct after
organizational military/employee vaccination days

-- Vaccinations for dependents and for rest of Stuttgart community will be
scheduled on Kelley and other installations at later date - advertised on
USAG-Stuttgart website.

-- BOTTOM LINE: Everyone in community will have opportunity for vaccination
before Nov
