USS Hershel ‘Woody’ Williams operates with the Senegalese Navy

The Expeditionary Sea Base USS Hershel “Woody” Williams conducts a passing exercise with Senegalese Navy patrol vessel Kedougou, in the Atlantic Ocean, Sept. 21. Hershel “Woody” Williams is on its inaugural deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa area of responsibility in support of maritime missions and special operations.

U.S. Africa Command, supported by U.S. European and U.S. Strategic Commands, conducted a partner training event with the Mauritanian Air Force in Atar, Mauritania on Wednesday. U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Africa Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC) traveled from Vicenza, IT to Atar, Mauritania and conducted ground to air training with Mauritanian Air Force personnel.
