Gen. Townsend meets President, discusses economic growth and stability during first visit to Cote d’Ivoire

Gen. Stephen Townsend, commander, U.S. Africa Command, meets with Ivoirian President Alassane Ouattara (right) to discuss security cooperation and training opportunities as part of a four-day trip to West Africa Sept. 21, 2021. “I was able to meet with senior African leaders to talk about the importance of continuing our regional approach to addressing security issues and how we at U.S. Africa Command can help,” said Townsend.
