DEBRE LIBANOS, Ethiopia - Participants in the Joint Foreign Area Officer Skill Sustainment Pilot Program In-Residence Africa Course (JFSSPP) enjoy a cultural day in the Central Highlands of Ethiopia, August 26, 2010. The Naval Postgraduate School- hosted course provided advanced sustainment training to Africa Foreign Area Officers (FAOs), to include several US Africa Command personnel. Participants included those from field positions, policy positions, intelligence positions, and others. The course emphasized advanced understanding of regional security affairs, joint operations, and advanced language instruction. Training was reinforced by briefings in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with U.S. Country Team members, African Union officials, the Institute for Security Studies (ISS), and roundtable discussions with students at the Ethiopian Defense Command and Staff College.
