A five-day certification exercise for more than a thousand new Marines and sailors deploying during January and February in support of crisis and contingency response in the European and Africa Commands’ areas of responsibility concluded on Dec. 18, 2014.

Joint Forces Command – United Assistance service members, deployed to Barclay Training Center, Monrovia, Liberia, take a tour of the Liberian National Museum, Jan. 20, 2015, in Monrovia. The JFC-UA sponsored museum visit was initiated to allow service members deployed in support of Operation United Assistance to more fully understand and experience Liberian culture. Operation United Assistance is a Department of Defense operation in Liberia to provide logistics, training and engineering support to U.S. Agency for International Development-led efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in western Africa.
