Camp Simba was one of several stops on a trip throughout East Africa that provided Sherwood-Randall a first-hand perspective of the complex security environment in Africa as well as U.S. Africa Command’s counter-terrorism missions across the continent.

Exercise Phoenix Express 2021, conducted by U.S. Naval Forces Africa, is an at-sea maritime exercise designed to improve cooperation among participating nations in order to increase maritime safety and security in the Mediterranean.
