U.S. Army Gen. Stephen Townsend, commander, U.S. Africa Command, met with Chiefs of Defense from Liberia, Ghana, and Malawi Aug. 13-14, 2019 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. He also met with a representative from the Botswana Defence Force. Townsend and the African generals participated in the Africa Senior Enlisted Leader Conference.
STUTTGART, Germany -- U.S. Africa Command hosted the annual Command Surgeon Synchronization Conference, May 28-30, 2019, at the AFRICOM Special Events Center.
Led by the AFRICOM office of the command surgeon, or J004, the conference brought together medical professionals from across the command, and interagency and foreign partners, to enable collaboration and to discuss areas of concern within the medical enterprise in Africa.

Senior military intelligence officials from East Africa, Europe, the U.S., Canada, and representatives from the African Union Mission to Somalia met during the annual East Africa Directors of Military Intelligence Conference here April 3-4.
The conference, hosted by the AFRICOM Intelligence Directorate (J2), is aimed at developing military intelligence relationships, addressing common regional challenges, and defining a shared way forward to address the most pressing issues..

U.S. Africa Command hosted The 2019 Adjutant General State Partnership Program Conference here April 15-16.
Officials from all partnering states and the District of Columbia gathered to discuss increasing coordination and communication while also increasing their ability to achieve AFRICOM campaign goals.
