AFRICOM Holds Virtual Command Advice, Investigation, and Coordination Conference

U.S. Africa Command’s office of the legal counsel’s legal engagements division held the first in a series of 11 virtual conferences with legal advisors from African partner nations.
The conference series are being held virtually in response to COVID-related travel restrictions, but will likely continue after the pandemic.

AFRICOM Donates Field Hospital to Kenya Border Police

U.S. Africa Command donated a 40-bed, negative air pressure mobile field hospital to the Kenya Border Police, demonstrating its longstanding commitment to Kenya and continued support for partner nations in the fight against COVID-19.
The consolidation of these two Army service component commands under one four-star commander will play a vital role in supporting missions across two interconnected theaters of operation.
U.S., Ghana partner to build disaster management capabilities across the region

On November 9, U.S. Ambassador to Ghana Stephanie S. Sullivan officially presented a skills-based Disaster Management Curriculum to Major General Francis Ofori, Commandant of the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center (KAIPTC). The curriculum was produced by United States Africa Command in partnership with KAIPTC.

U.S. donates personal protective equipment to Zambian Ministry of Defense

At the behest of the Ministry of Defense, the U.S. government, through U.S. Africa Command, secured the PPE and other supplies in support of the Zambian government’s inter-ministerial measures to contain the spread of this unprecedented public health crisis. The Oct. 1 donation included containers of chlorine as part of a PPE donation to the Defense Forces of Zambia in the fight against COVID-19.
