AFRICOM Commander visits Tunisia to discuss security

U.S. Africa Command commander Gen. Stephen Townsend traveled to Tunisia Sept. 9 to meet with key Tunisian leadership, including Tunisian President Kais Saied and Tunisian Minister of Defense, Ibrahim Bartagi. U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia Donald Blome also participated in the meetings.

AFRICOM used Overseas Humanitarian, Disaster, and Civic Aid Appropriation (OHDACA) funds to purchase the supplies, which included 10,000 N95 face masks, 1,600 hospital gowns, 2,000 liters of methylated spirit, 3,000 liters of sodium hypochlorite, 20 glucometers, 200 glucometer strips, and 14 pulse oximeters.

Of those 35 years, 27 of those were served as a Green Beret. Marsh saw the majority of modern U.S. conflict in-person, but that’s not what he wanted to talk about during his 40-minute speech to a sizeable, socially-distanced crowd.
